With the revision on the M883 Software Requirements for business systems (http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) and it’s rather good. It creates mindmaps, which I tend to use naturally to scribble stuff anyways.
So I’m revising by going through the course material, creating a monster mindmap. It’s not like I’m going to actually remember it all but the act of thinking about building the map in a meaningful way really refreshes the things I need to revise.
I like the software because some serious thought has been given to how the user will in practice work with it, there are menus and context popups but once you’ve got a finger around some [insert] and [return] shortcuts you can work quickly enough to not break your ‘flow’. And it does just mindmaps. Really well. Software that focuses on one thing and does it really well always wins with me. Guess the proof of its effectiveness will be the exam…
