Tomorrow Never Dies

StarringPierce Brosnan, Michelle Yeoh, and Teri Hatcher Score3

Bad media-mogul guy Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) tries to start a war between China and Britain so that he can cash in on the media rights. As the two countries face a tense standoff, Bond (Brosnan) and Chinese agent Wai Lin (Yeoh) must prove Carvers involvement and stop his plans.

Not quite as good me thinks as Goldeneye, but still impressive. Carver is a very believable media tycoon bent on controlling events, truly a modern villain, but his evil sidekick Stamper (Gotz Otto) is pathetic. Jaws would bite you, Odd Job throw his hat but it seems modern villains just hit you. No style at all. The creepy Dr. Kaufman “I could shoot you from Stuttgard and achieve the right effect” was far nastier.

With Sheryl Crow performing one of the better Bond songs (though I’m probably biased towards Ms Crow) this is a solid watchable Bond movie.
