The final portion of the progress to a Masters is the dissertation. I’m looking forward to it, I think the investigating and discovery side of it is right up my street ~ much more than the “absorb and regurgitate” of other courses. First step is to register.

Although the work formally starts in Feb 2010, there is quite a process before in choosing a research topic and getting it approved. To qualify, the topic has to meet several high criteria. Which is good, you wont be allowed to start until you can show a reasonable idea and a plan to success. Currently I’m looking at investigating software using “complexity science” : a completely new topic to me but seems fascinatingly interdisciplinary.
