Summer 270BC. First strike

The Senate have asked us to capture Segesta, a small rebel town up the coast. Should be easy but I don’t want to waste any men at this stage. A full strength kick I think to minimise loses, so gather my generals, scrape up troops and get set.

As many troops as possible to overwhelm the rebels

Spy en-route to check the place out and perhaps open the gates while a diplomat is gathering the status to the Gaulish >spit< north.

Easily occupied Segesta and the Senate granted 5000 denari. Which was nice. Transferred some town watch from Arretium to keep the peace there, don’t the locals understand I had to occupy their town?

Meanwhile a Gaulish army hovers to the north.
