Sometimes Horizon is pants, usually brilliant. This episode explores the history of food and science discoveries leading to the current obesity epidemic. A bit slow in parts its a solid ‘big picture’ look at obesity. The take home message? Humans are genetically programmed to store fat in times of plenty and for some people that tendency is very strong. So in this era of constant plenty and less exercise there is a tendency to gain weight and some will do so more easily than others.
