This is an oil on A4 canvas and is loosely based on a photo taken during a visit to the Lake district. Trying to capture the boats without having to paint every boat and water reflections make this a perhaps a little too tricky for my skills at this point.

But hey, if you don’t try you don’t improve. Overall pleased to have finished something, attending the art group has helped to keep momentum and not just give up. The image is taken from a scan rather than a photo which does capture the colours well but strangely seems to make things a little indistinct.
